Rooms – Stay with Us
“The rocking chairs on the long front porch of the Wortley Hotel are like front-row seats on Wild West history.”
“5 Fall Getaways”
Today, having been a historical fixture in Lincoln for over 140 years, the Wortley Hotel offers a comfortable balance of 1880‘s ‘period’ guest rooms, historic dining room and bar, custom made beds, traditional furniture, and late 19th century curios throughout.
There’s a working fireplace in each room but the only television is natural and gorgeous -- what you see from the porch or out the window. To date, we’ve had no complaints about substituting broadcast and cable TV with our 360°, 24/7 vistas… hills, mountains, high desert, Rio Bonito (in our backyard), a variety of wildlife and gorgeous sunsets.
At the Wortley, we’re proud to be Green! Soaps, cleaners and detergents are all home-produced so the rooms are naturally fresh scented and the sheets are cotton soft. This even includes the homemade Wortley (“W”) goat milk soap squares in each room.
You’ll be greeted in our yard by the Wortley Welcoming Committee, our free-range hens. They work hard preparing your breakfast, and enjoy what ever love and company you choose to share. Most nights, other members of the Committee, the deer and elk wander up to the hotel around dusk to welcome new guests and re-visit with multi-night lodgers. Be sure to walk down to our working mini-farm to say hi to the resident goats, pig and sheep.
If you have questions or an interest in getting the inside story about Billy the Kid and the Lincoln County War, your room is a 1 minute walk from the Old Courthouse, a 5 minute walk from the Tunstall Store, and a 7 minute walk from the Anderson-Freeman Museum.
Tour the town… visit the museums and historic buildings… return for a night cap… enjoy a beautiful western sunset… rest in a rocker on the front porch… and finally, experience the backdrop of your classic western styled room – all in the environment and atmosphere of the definitive Wild West.
